Year 7: Learning with Purpose

One Community, Many New Beginnings.

Year 7 marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter at Wisdom College. Through a supportive transition program, engaging learning experiences, and a strong focus on wellbeing, students quickly develop the confidence, independence, and skills to thrive in Secondary School.

A Confident Start to Secondary School

Starting Secondary School is an important milestone, and at Wisdom College we are committed to making the transition a positive and rewarding experience.

Our Year 7 transition program helps students build friendships, establish routines, and develop confidence in their new environment. Students are supported by caring teachers, dedicated wellbeing staff, and older peers who help them settle into college life from day one.

Transition initiatives include:

  • Student Buddy Program
  • Peer Support Program with Year 10 mentors
  • Welcome sessions with key staff
  • “What I Wish I’d Known” sessions led by current students
  • Year 7 Camp and community-building activities

Together, these experiences help students feel connected, supported, and ready to embrace the opportunities of Secondary School.

Building Independent Learners

Year 7 students study a broad range of subjects aligned with the Australian Curriculum while developing the skills needed for lifelong learning.

A highlight of the program is our weekly Project Day, where students explore projects based on their interests, encouraging creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving.

Combined with strong pastoral care through our WISE program and a rich co-curricular experience, students are supported to become organised, self-directed, and resilient learners who are prepared for the years ahead.
